Ingredients
1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
1–2 tablespoons olive oil
8 ounces Brie cheese, sliced
1–2 apples, thinly sliced
2–3 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)
Sea salt (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crostini: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Assemble the Crostini: Place a slice of Brie on each toasted baguette slice. Top with a few slices of apple.
- Make the Hot Honey: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Microwave for 15-20 seconds until warm and easy to drizzle.
- Finish and Serve: Drizzle the hot honey over the apple-topped crostini. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and a sprinkle of sea salt, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Choosing Apples: Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a balanced flavor, or try sweet-tart varieties like Honeycrisp.
Customizing Heat: Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your preferred spice level.
Make-Ahead Tips: Toast baguette slices and make the hot honey in advance. Assemble just before serving for best results.
