Ingredients

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

1 cup salsa

2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese, divided

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced black olives

2 green onions, sliced

Tortilla chips for serving


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat, drain excess fat, and stir in taco seasoning and water. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and salsa until smooth. Spread evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the cooked taco meat on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese over the meat layer.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Top with chopped tomatoes, olives, green onions, and the remaining cheese.

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground meat with black beans or a meat alternative.
