Ingredients
1kg stewing beef
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp minced garlic
1 cup plain yoghurt
1 tblsp tomato paste
1 tsp mild curry powder
1 tsp curry paste
¼ cup Cape Malay curry cook-in sauce
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 cup water
Instructions
- Marinate the beef with curry paste and plain yoghurt for at least 2 hours.
- Sauté onions and garlic until soft, then add curry powder and curry paste.
- Brown the marinated beef in the pot.
- Add water, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Stir in tomato paste and Cape Malay curry cook-in sauce, and cook until the beef is tender.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, you can reduce the amount of water or simmer the curry uncovered for a few extra minutes.
