Ingredients

1 (5 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups cold milk

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

45 ripe bananas, sliced

1 (12 oz) box vanilla wafer cookies


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until it begins to thicken. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form, creating homemade whipped cream.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream and sweetened condensed milk into the prepared pudding until smooth and combined.
  4. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer vanilla wafers to cover the bottom. Add a layer of banana slices, then spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  5. Repeat layers with more wafers, bananas, and the remaining pudding mixture.
  6. Top with additional vanilla wafers if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best) to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

For best flavor, prepare the pudding the night before and refrigerate overnight.

To prevent bananas from browning, lightly coat them with lemon juice before layering.
