Description

A hearty and flavorful beef and cheese burrito packed with seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and a zesty touch of salsa, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. This easy, restaurant-quality meal is perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a late-night craving.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup salsa

½ cup refried beans

¼ cup water

4 large flour tortillas

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

¼ cup sour cream (optional)

¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef – Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Sauté Aromatics – Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Season – Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add Salsa & Beans – Mix in salsa, refried beans, and water. Let simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Warm Tortillas – Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for flexibility.
  6. Assemble Burritos – Spoon beef mixture onto tortillas, sprinkle with cheese, and roll tightly.
  7. Toast Burritos – Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and toast each burrito for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Serve – Enjoy warm with sour cream and cilantro if desired.

Notes

For extra spice, add jalapeños or hot sauce.

Swap cheeses for pepper jack or a Mexican blend.

Add rice, black beans, or sautéed peppers for more texture.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
