Ingredients

For the Cookie Layer:
1/2 cup butter or coconut oil, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp milk of choice
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Brownie Layer: Mix cocoa powder, melted oil, and sugar. Stir in milk and vanilla extract. Add flour, salt, and baking soda, mixing until smooth. Spread evenly in the pan.
- Prepare the Cookie Layer: Beat softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract and milk. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
- Spread cookie dough evenly over the brownie layer.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean. Cool before slicing into bars.
