Description

This hearty Cabbage and Ground Beef Skillet is a flavorful, easy-to-make one-pan meal perfect for busy weeknights. With tender cabbage, savory ground beef, and a blend of spices, this comforting dish is low-carb, satisfying, and full of flavor. Ready in just 35 minutes, it’s a budget-friendly meal the whole family will love!

Ingredients

1 small cabbage, chopped

1 lb ground beef

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes

1 cup onions, chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon bouillon powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until the onions are softened.
  3. Stir in the cumin, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and bouillon powder. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Season with salt to taste and cook for an additional 5 minutes uncovered to reduce any excess liquid.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a leaner option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.

Customize the heat level by adjusting the cayenne pepper or adding your favorite hot sauce.

This recipe pairs well with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread for a more filling meal.

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
