For the Cinnamon Swirl:

1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Glaze:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

12 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, milk, and beaten egg. Add this wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter and gently swirl using a knife. Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread.
