Description

Indulge in the deliciousness of Cinnamon Roll Sugar Cookies, a perfect blend of classic sugar cookies and cinnamon rolls. These cookies are soft, sweet, and filled with a delightful cinnamon swirl, making them an ideal treat for any occasion. With simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, you can enjoy these delectable cookies fresh from your own oven.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create the cinnamon swirl.
  7. Using the back of a spoon or your thumb, make an indentation in the center of each cookie dough ball. Fill each indentation with the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set and lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to create the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the cookie dough.

If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk.

To store, keep the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Cookies can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
