Description

Golden, crispy baked chicken tenders are a healthier alternative to fried options. Perfectly juicy inside and coated in a Parmesan-panko crust, they’re easy to make, family-friendly, and versatile. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauces for a crowd-pleasing meal that’s quick, delicious, and guilt-free.


Ingredients

1 lb (450g) chicken tenders or chicken breast, cut into strips

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

Olive oil spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly spray parchment with olive oil.
  2. Set up a breading station: flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a third.
  3. Pat chicken strips dry with paper towels. Coat each piece in flour, dip in eggs, and press into the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Arrange breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Spray lightly with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through (internal temperature: 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Serve immediately with dipping sauces like honey mustard, ranch, or BBQ sauce.

Notes

For a spicy version, add cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mix.

To make gluten-free, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs.

Reheat leftovers in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 8-10 minutes for best results.
