Indulge in these Dark Chocolate Halloween Chip Cookies, a delightful twist on classic chocolate chip cookies! Bursting with rich dark chocolate and festive Halloween-themed chocolate chips, these cookies offer a soft, chewy texture that makes them perfect for Halloween parties or as sweet treats for trick-or-treaters. Easy to make and deliciously spooky, they are sure to be a favorite this fall!

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 cup Halloween-themed chocolate chips (orange, purple, black)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the dark chocolate chips and Halloween-themed chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, do not overbake. They should be slightly underbaked in the center.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.

Feel free to customize with other mix-ins like nuts or different chocolate chips.
