Crispy and flavorful Garlic Potato Pops are the perfect appetizer or snack, ideal for parties, game days, or family gatherings. Made with leftover mashed potatoes, parmesan, and garlic, these bite-sized delights are easy to prepare and a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
2 cups mashed potatoes (leftover or freshly made)
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix mashed potatoes, parmesan, garlic, parsley, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- Prepare a coating station: place beaten egg in one bowl and breadcrumbs in another.
- Dip each ball into the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs evenly.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry potato pops in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in an oven or air fryer.
Freeze uncooked pops for up to 3 months and fry directly from frozen.
