Ingredients
12 lasagna noodles
1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian sausage
1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 large egg
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the prepared baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then add 1/3 of the meat sauce and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat twice, ending with mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.
Notes
For a cheesier version, add more mozzarella between layers.
Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Use no-boil lasagna noodles if you prefer, but adjust baking time as needed.
