Description

Savor the rich flavors of this Easy Meat Lasagna, a hearty Italian classic layered with a savory meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella. Perfect for family dinners or meal prep!


Ingredients

12 lasagna noodles

1 pound ground beef

1 pound Italian sausage

1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)

2 cups ricotta cheese

1 large egg

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the prepared baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then add 1/3 of the meat sauce and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat twice, ending with mozzarella on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve.

Notes

For a cheesier version, add more mozzarella between layers.

Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

Use no-boil lasagna noodles if you prefer, but adjust baking time as needed.
