Ingredients

For the Dough:

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

For the Cinnamon Filling:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg, mixing until smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl for the filling.
  4. Roll the dough into a 12×15-inch rectangle and spread the cinnamon filling evenly over it. Roll tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
  5. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For the glaze, mix softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the filling.

These rolls can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning for convenience.
