Ingredients
1 baguette or loaf of Italian bread
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the baguette or Italian loaf in half lengthwise.
- Mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread’s cut sides.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, if using, over the buttered bread.
