Description

Buttery, crisp, and bursting with garlic flavor, this quick and easy garlic bread is the ultimate side dish for pasta, soups, or as a stand-alone snack. Made with fresh ingredients and ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a versatile, crowd-pleasing recipe that’s customizable to suit your taste.

Ingredients

1 baguette or loaf of Italian bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or Italian loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread’s cut sides.
  5. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, if using, over the buttered bread.
  6. Place bread halves on a baking sheet with the buttered side facing up.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden and crisp. Optionally broil for 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  8. Slice into pieces and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor, but pre-minced garlic works in a pinch.

Variations include adding mozzarella, herbs, or a spicy twist with red pepper flakes.

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free bread.

Prep garlic butter ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
