Description

Grilled Cheese Skewers are a fun, crispy, and gooey twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich. These bite-sized delights are perfect for parties, snacks, or a playful lunch. Customize with fillings like bacon, jalapeños, or pesto to suit any taste. A perfect dipping companion for tomato soup, ranch, or marinara!

Ingredients

8 slices of thick bread (sourdough or brioche work great)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

Optional: cooked bacon bits, sliced jalapeños, chopped tomatoes, or pesto

Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread and top each evenly with shredded cheese. Add optional fillings like bacon, jalapeños, tomatoes, or pesto if desired.

  2. Place the remaining slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.

  3. Lightly butter the outsides of each sandwich.

  4. Grill the sandwiches on a skillet or panini press over medium heat until golden and crispy on both sides, and the cheese is melted—about 3–4 minutes per side.

  5. Let the sandwiches cool slightly, then cut each into quarters.

  6. Carefully insert wooden skewers through the sandwich quarters.

  7. Serve warm, optionally with tomato soup, ranch, or marinara for dipping.

Notes

Experiment with different cheese varieties such as mozzarella, provolone, or gouda.

If you prefer a healthier version, add spinach or a mix of fresh veggies.
