Ingredients
For the Brownies:
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Frosting:
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth. Mix in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla, flour, and salt until just combined.
- Bake the Brownies: Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely in the pan.
- Prepare the Frosting: In a saucepan, combine butter, milk, and cocoa powder over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, gradually whisk in powdered sugar, and stir in vanilla extract.
- Frost the Brownies: Spread frosting evenly over cooled brownies. Let the frosting set before slicing into squares.
- Serve: Enjoy with a cold glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
Notes
For clean cuts, cool the brownies completely before slicing.
If frosting is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until smooth. If too thin, add powdered sugar to thicken.
