Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 packet au jus gravy mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
6–8 pepperoncini peppers
1/4 cup pepperoncini juice (from the jar)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
- Arrange the butter slices on top of the chicken breasts.
- Add the pepperoncini peppers and pour the pepperoncini juice over everything. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks. Mix well to coat the chicken with the juices.
- Serve hot on sandwiches, over rice, or with your favorite sides.
Notes
For a spicier version, add extra pepperoncini or a few slices of jalapeños.
You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts for a richer flavor.
