Ingredients
For the Crust:
2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
½ cup melted butter
For the Mousse Filling:
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted
¼ cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Layer:
¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup heavy cream
For the Topping:
½ cup whipped cream
Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter.
- Press firmly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch dish.
- Refrigerate while making the mousse filling.
- Make the Mousse:
- Beat heavy cream, melted chocolate, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
- Spread evenly over the chilled crust.
- Refrigerate while making the chocolate layer.
- Add the Chocolate Layer:
- Heat heavy cream until warm (not boiling).
- Pour over chocolate chips, let sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
- Spread evenly over the mousse layer.
- Chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Garnish & Serve:
- Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings (optional).
