1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large bananas)
1/2 cup Nutella, warmed for swirling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, whisking until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the warmed Nutella over the batter and gently swirl with a knife. Add the remaining batter on top and drizzle with the remaining Nutella, swirling again.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer banana flavor, use very ripe bananas.
To prevent sticking, warm the Nutella slightly before swirling.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to one week.
