Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large bananas)

1/2 cup Nutella, warmed for swirling


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, whisking until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Drizzle half of the warmed Nutella over the batter and gently swirl with a knife. Add the remaining batter on top and drizzle with the remaining Nutella, swirling again.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer banana flavor, use very ripe bananas.

To prevent sticking, warm the Nutella slightly before swirling.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to one week.
