Description

Indulge in the vibrant flavors of nostalgia with this Orange Creamsicle Cake. Combining tangy orange and sweet vanilla, this easy-to-make dessert is perfect for any occasion. Moist layers of cake and creamy frosting ensure every bite is as delightful as the last.

Ingredients

Cake:

1 box vanilla cake mix

1 box (3 oz) orange gelatin mix

1 cup orange juice

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp orange zest

Frosting:

1 cup butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

2 tbsp heavy cream

2 tbsp orange extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and gelatin mix.
  3. Add orange juice, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Beat until smooth.
  4. Divide batter evenly into pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  5. For frosting, beat softened butter until fluffy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar. Add heavy cream and orange extract if needed, beating until smooth.
  6. Frost the first cake layer, stack the second, and frost the entire cake.
  7. Slice and serve!

Notes

Use fresh orange juice for enhanced flavor.

For easy cake removal, line pans with parchment paper.

To adjust frosting consistency, add powdered sugar to thicken or heavy cream to thin.
