Description

Delight in the exquisite taste of Oreo Macarons, delicate French pastries that blend a chewy almond shell with a rich Oreo-flavored buttercream filling. Perfect for any occasion, these macarons combine the classic elegance of French desserts with the beloved flavors of cookies and cream. Ideal for impressing guests or treating yourself, this recipe ensures a deliciously unique experience.

Ingredients

For the Macaron Shells:

1 cup almond flour

1 ¾ cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons Oreo cookie crumbs (filling removed)

3 large egg whites, room temperature

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Oreo Buttercream Filling:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ¼ cups powdered sugar

34 tablespoons Oreo cookie crumbs (filling removed)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 tablespoons milk (if needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a food processor, pulse the almond flour, powdered sugar, and Oreo cookie crumbs until finely mixed. Sift the mixture into a bowl, discarding any large pieces.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gently fold the almond-Oreo mixture into the egg whites in three parts until combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe 1-inch circles onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 1 inch apart. Tap the trays to remove air bubbles. Let sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or until the tops form a skin.
  6. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Bake for 15-18 minutes, rotating halfway through. Allow to cool completely before removing.
  7. For the Oreo Buttercream, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, Oreo cookie crumbs, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Add milk as needed for consistency.
  8. Pipe buttercream onto the flat side of one macaron shell and sandwich with another.
  9. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 24 hours before serving.

Notes

For the best results, use room temperature egg whites and sift the dry ingredients to avoid lumps.

Let macarons sit in the fridge for 24 hours to enhance the flavor before serving.
