Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Optional: 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet ingredients.
- Fold in Rice Krispies (and optional mix-ins like chocolate chips or sprinkles).
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
