Ingredients
For the Steak Patties:
1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Gravy:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water (for cornstarch slurry)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced onion and mushrooms for 5-7 minutes.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry; add to skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for 10 minutes until cooked through. Serve hot.
