Ingredients

For the Steak Patties:

1 pound ground beef

1/3 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 egg

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Gravy:

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water (for cornstarch slurry)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onion and mushrooms for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry; add to skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Return patties to the skillet, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for 10 minutes until cooked through. Serve hot.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
