2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

4 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined.

  6. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
  7. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust and spread evenly.
  8. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the cream cheese layer.
  9. Sprinkle sea salt evenly over the caramel.
  10. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  11. Allow the bars to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra flavor, try using different types of cake mix like chocolate or spice.

Homemade caramel sauce can be used if store-bought is unavailable.

These bars can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
