Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 lb sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.
- Sauté the Mushrooms: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a little salt and pepper.
- Combine and Assemble: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the mushrooms. Add the softened cream cheese and stir until well combined and creamy. If desired, stir in the sour cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×9-inch baking dish or casserole dish.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and slightly bubbly around the edges.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot. Pairs well with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
Notes
For extra richness, the optional sour cream and Parmesan cheese can be added.
