Ingredients

½ cup butter, softened

3 cups powdered sugar

2 tbsp heavy whipping cream

¼ tsp peppermint extract

Red gel food coloring


Instructions

  1. Beat the Butter: In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter until fluffy.
  2. Add Ingredients: Slowly add heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract. Mix until smooth and firm.
  3. Divide and Color Dough: Divide the dough—leave ¾ of it white and color the remaining ¼ with red gel food coloring.
  4. Form the Mints: Roll each dough portion into thin ropes, twist them together, and pinch off small pieces to form mints.
  5. Dry the Mints: Let mints air dry for 1-2 hours, then cut into small pieces. Allow to dry for 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Store mints in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
