Ingredients
For the Brownies:
1/2 cup melted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour for gluten-free version)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup chocolate chips (optional)
For the Spider Web Decoration:
1/4 cup white chocolate or vanilla icing
1–2 drops black food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder, stirring gently until combined. Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before adding the spider web decoration.
- To decorate, melt the white chocolate and transfer it to a piping bag or squeeze bottle. Starting from the center, pipe thin circles on top of the brownies. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center to the edges, creating a web effect.
- Cut into squares and serve your spooky treats!
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil instead of butter.
For gluten-free brownies, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking flour.
Add festive Halloween sprinkles on top for extra decoration.
