½ cup cold water
1 tsp vanilla extract
12 tbsp strawberry preserves
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
Red sanding sugar (optional, for decoration)
Instructions

- Roll and Cut: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼-inch thickness. Cut into 3×4-inch rectangles.
- Fill and Seal: Place a spoonful of strawberry preserves on half of the rectangles. Top with remaining rectangles, pressing edges to seal and crimping with a fork.
- Bake: Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
- Ice and Decorate: Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled pop-tarts and sprinkle with red sanding sugar if desired.
Notes
For a crispier crust, consider baking on a preheated baking sheet.
Customize the filling with different fruit preserves or jams according to your preference.
If the dough becomes too soft to handle, chill it for an additional 10-15 minutes.
