Description

Indulge in the ultimate dessert with this rich and decadent triple chocolate cake, featuring moist cocoa layers, creamy chocolate frosting, and a glossy ganache topping. Perfect for celebrations, birthdays, or satisfying your chocolate cravings.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

For the Chocolate Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Ganache:

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Gradually add boiling water and stir until combined.
  4. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. For frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa, cream, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  6. Frost the first cake layer, stack the second, and frost the entire cake.
  7. For ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Cool slightly, then pour over the cake, letting it drip down the sides.
  8. Chill for 30 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

For an extra moist cake, replace some milk with sour cream.

Customize with toppings like nuts or fruits.

Use dark cocoa powder for richer flavor.
