Ingredients

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour

1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chunks (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Whisk in eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Fold until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. Optional Chocolate Chips: Fold in chocolate chips or chunks for extra fudginess.

Notes
