Description
This 4-ingredient date caramel sauce is a healthy, vegan alternative to traditional caramel, sweetened naturally with Medjool dates. Made in just 10 minutes, it’s the perfect addition to desserts, snacks, and beverages, offering a creamy and indulgent treat without refined sugar or artificial ingredients.
Ingredients
1 cup pitted Medjool dates
1/2 cup almond milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
Soak the Dates: Soak the pitted Medjool dates in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften.
Drain and Blend: Drain the dates and transfer them to a food processor or blender.
Add Remaining Ingredients: Add almond milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the blender.
Blend to Perfection: Blend until smooth and creamy. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
Adjust Consistency: Add more almond milk, one tablespoon at a time, if the caramel is too thick.
Notes
For a sweeter sauce, consider adding maple syrup or honey.
You can adjust the flavor with cinnamon or coconut extract for extra depth.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. To reheat, warm gently on the stove or in the microwave.
