Ingredients
1 ¼ cups ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar
4 drops hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, add ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Simmer: Stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook and Blend: Let the sauce cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to blend and the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Cool and Store: Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
For a milder version, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
If you prefer a smoother sauce, blend it with an immersion blender after cooling.
Use as a marinade for meats or as a dipping sauce for fries, onion rings, or vegetables.
