Description
Crispy, golden, cinnamon-sugar-coated apple fries made effortlessly in the air fryer. A lighter sweet treat perfect for snacking or dessert, with a deep-fried texture and classic apple pie flavor.
Ingredients
2 large apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp)
1/2 cup flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)
2 eggs
1 cup crushed graham crackers or breadcrumbs
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Peel and slice the apples into fry-shaped sticks.
- Prepare a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with crushed graham crackers mixed with sugar and cinnamon.
- Dip each apple stick first in flour, then in the egg, and finally coat thoroughly in the graham cracker mixture.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Arrange the apple fries in a single layer in the basket, without overcrowding. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve warm with caramel sauce, whipped cream, or vanilla yogurt if desired.
Notes
Use sweet, firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best results.
For a gluten-free version, use almond flour and gluten-free graham crackers.
Switch up the coating with crushed cornflakes or oat-based granola for extra crunch.
To reheat, air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes to restore crispiness.
Avoid the microwave as it makes the fries soggy.
