Ingredients

1 large sweet onion

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Cut off the top of the onion and peel off the outer skin.
  2. Cut the onion vertically into 12 to 16 sections, stopping about 1/4 inch from the bottom.
  3. Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a shallow bowl.
  4. Beat eggs in another bowl and place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Dip onion in flour mixture, then beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C), spray onion with cooking spray, and air fry for 10 minutes.
  7. Flip onion and air fry for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
