Ingredients

All-purpose flour 1/2 cup

Teaspoon salt 1/2

1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 pound ground beef

Half cup chopped onion

2 minced cloves of garlic

Green bell pepper , chopped (1/2)

1/2 red bell pepper, chopped (1/2)

Ground black pepper teaspoon (1/2)

Teaspoon dried oregano (1/2)

Half teaspoon paprika

Teaspoon cumin (1/2)

Teaspoon chili powder (1/2)

Instructions

  1. To start the cooking process, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Heat up a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add the onions and bell peppers and sauté them until they are soft.
  2. Next, add the ground beef to the skillet and cook it until it is browned. As the beef is cooking, add the minced garlic and continue sautéing until the garlic is fragrant. Add the black pepper, dried oregano, paprika, cumin, and chili powder to the skillet and mix everything together.
  3. While the beef is cooking, prepare the dough by combining the all-purpose flour, salt, and cubed unsalted butter in a mixing bowl. Mix everything together until it forms a dough. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into 6-inch squares.
  4. Once the beef mixture is cooked, spoon it onto the center of each dough square. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges together to seal the pocket. Place the pockets on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
