Description

Indulge in buttery, nutty Almond Crescent Cookies, a classic holiday treat that melts in your mouth. Perfectly shaped and dusted with powdered sugar, these cookies bring a delicate almond flavor to your teatime or festive dessert table.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp almond extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup almond flour (or finely ground almonds)

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
  3. Gradually mix in all-purpose flour and almond flour until dough forms. (It may appear crumbly but should hold when pressed.)
  4. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball, and shape into a crescent. Place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  6. Let cookies cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, dust generously with powdered sugar.
  7. Serve and enjoy your homemade Almond Crescent Cookies!

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free blend.

Enhance flavors with a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom.

To avoid spreading, ensure butter isn’t overly soft and chill the dough briefly if necessary.
