Ingredients
For the Dough:
2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
1/2 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp salt
1 large egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
For the Filling:
3 medium apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Combine yeast and warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
 - In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg.
 - Add yeast mixture and gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
 - Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
 - Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
 
 - Prepare the Filling:
- Cook diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Cool completely.
 
 - Assemble the Rolls:
- Roll dough into a 12×16-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
 - Spread softened butter evenly and sprinkle cooled apple mixture.
 - Roll tightly from the longer edge and cut into 12 equal slices.
 
 - Bake the Rolls:
- Arrange slices in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
 
 - Make the Glaze:
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
