Description

A quick, healthy, and flavorful Spanish-inspired appetizer combining creamy avocado and flaky tuna. Perfect for parties, snacks, or a light lunch, these no-cook tapas are served on baguette slices, crackers, or cucumber rounds.

Ingredients

1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

1 (5 oz) can tuna, drained

1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro or parsley

1 small shallot or 2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Pinch of paprika or chili flakes (optional)

Toasted baguette slices, crackers, or cucumber rounds for serving

Instructions

  1. Mash the avocado in a medium bowl until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
  2. Add the drained tuna and gently mix it into the avocado.
  3. Stir in the mayonnaise (if using), lemon juice, chopped herbs, and finely chopped shallot or red onion.
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of paprika or chili flakes, if desired.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto toasted baguette slices, crackers, or cucumber rounds.
  6. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.

Notes

Use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for a lighter option.

For a Mediterranean twist, add diced olives or sun-dried tomatoes.

Chopped walnuts or almonds can add a nice crunch.

Serve on cucumber rounds or endive leaves for a low-carb version.

Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface to prevent browning.
