Description
Baked Cajun Salmon is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender, oven-baked salmon fillets coated in a bold, smoky Cajun spice rub with a touch of citrus. Perfect for weeknight meals or easy entertaining.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets (6 oz each, skin-on or skinless)
2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
1 lemon (half sliced, half for juice)
Salt and pepper (to taste, optional)
Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry. Rub each fillet with olive oil or melted butter.
- Generously coat the fillets with Cajun seasoning. Squeeze lemon juice over each and optionally top with a lemon slice.
- Place the salmon skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 125–130°F for medium or 145°F for well-done.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
Notes
Use homemade Cajun seasoning to control the spice level.
Add a quick broil at the end for a crispier top.
Pairs well with rice, roasted vegetables, or salad.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat in a 300°F oven for about 10 minutes or serve cold over salads.
