Ingredients

2 eggs

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1 ½ cups sugar

1 cup sour cream

½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

¾ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl and mix in the ground cinnamon.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs, sour cream, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  7. Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Pour the warm frosting over the top and spread it evenly.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares. Serve and enjoy!
