Description
Tender shredded chicken coated in tangy BBQ sauce, served on toasted slider buns with creamy slaw. These BBQ chicken sliders are fast, flavorful, and perfect for casual meals or entertaining.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
8 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
1 tablespoon butter (optional, for toasting buns)
1 cup coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional toppings: sliced pickles, red onion
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken with BBQ sauce. Heat in a skillet or microwave until warmed through.
- In another bowl, mix coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and salt and pepper. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
- If desired, butter the insides of the slider buns and toast in a skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble each slider by placing a spoonful of BBQ chicken on the bottom bun, followed by slaw and optional toppings like pickles or red onion.
- Top with the upper bun and serve warm.
Notes
Use spicy BBQ sauce or add cheddar cheese for variation.
Swap mayo with Greek yogurt for a healthier slaw.
Great served with sweet potato fries or baked beans.
Chicken and slaw can be made ahead and stored separately.
Freeze only the chicken, not the slaw.
