Ingredients
12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries

1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon orange zest
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Stir in orange zest and cinnamon (if using). Remove from heat.
- Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature before transferring it to a serving dish or airtight container.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For a spiced version, add nutmeg or cloves.
Reduce sugar for a more tart sauce.
Use frozen cranberries without thawing.
