Description

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Shape the dough into a large ball and place it in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Press down slightly to flatten the top.

Notes

For a softer center, remove the cookie from the oven when the edges are golden but the center is still soft.
