Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, until sauce thickens.
- Return chicken breasts to the skillet, coating with sauce. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Cajun seasoning and omit the cayenne pepper.
For dairy-free alternatives, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk and Parmesan with nutritional yeast.
