Ingredients

300 grams Chicken Thigh (fatty ones are best)

1 tbsp Honey

1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce

1 tbsp Oyster Sauce

1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce (or Kecap Manis)

2 tbsps Brown Sugar

2 cloves Garlic, pureed or grated

1 inch Ginger, pureed or grated

1 tsp Chinese Five Spice powder

Pinch of White Pepper

1 tsp Red Food Coloring (optional)


Instructions

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl or ziplock bag.
  2. Add chicken thighs and marinate for a minimum of 2 hours to overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (390 degrees Fahrenheit).
  4. Remove chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Arrange chicken on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For optimal flavor, allow the chicken to marinate overnight. Feel free to adjust the amount of honey and sugar according to your taste preferences.
