Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
2 cups marinara sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread the shredded chicken evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the marinara sauce.
- In a small bowl, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs, melted butter, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
