Description

This comforting and cheesy Chicken Parmesan Casserole combines all the flavors of classic chicken parmesan in a convenient, bakeable dish. Perfect for family dinners or potlucks, this easy-to-make recipe features tender shredded chicken, rich marinara sauce, and a golden breadcrumb topping.


Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil, chopped (optional for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread the shredded chicken evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken and spread it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the marinara sauce.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs, melted butter, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer.
  7. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
