½ cup packed brown sugar

1 ½ cups boiling water


Instructions

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder for the batter. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
