Instructions
Make the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan, making sure all crevices are well-coated.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Add the sour cream and milk, mixing until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
- If using, gently fold in the dried cranberries and chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed to achieve your desired thickness.
Decorate the Cake:
- Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top, letting it flow down the sides.
- Sprinkle with red and green sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Optionally, dust the top with powdered sugar just before serving.
