Description

These Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies are the ultimate holiday treat! Soft, chewy, and filled with chocolate chips and colorful holiday sprinkles, these festive cookies are perfect for cookie exchanges, holiday parties, or enjoying with a glass of milk by the fire. Quick to make and loved by kids and adults alike, these cookies bring a touch of holiday magic to your dessert table.

Ingredients

¾ cup granulated sugar

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)

½ cup holiday sprinkles (red, green, or multicolored)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and holiday sprinkles.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, avoid overbaking; leave the centers slightly soft when removing from the oven.

You can substitute holiday sprinkles with chopped nuts, M&Ms, or other festive toppings.

Cookie dough can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1 month.
